Plan your stay!
After more than ten years at Dalegarth House we’d like to think we know our way around the Northern Lakes. We love to share our knowledge and passion for the area with guests so that you can get the most from your stay with us. Feel free to pick our brains for walking routes – long, short, high and low including the famous and incredibly popular Catbells fell walk, right from the door. Scenic sightseeing drives, the best picnic spot, where to hire a bike or kayak and so much more are right here, waiting to be discovered.
Whilst the obvious choices for activities are walking, sightseeing and watersports, there is so much more to the area. Explore a working mine or really push yourself out of your comfort zone on the via ferrata or infinity bridge experiences at Honister slate mine. Go back in time to the days of the Lakeland Poets – Wordsworth, Coleridge and Southey, see where they lived and wrote and the landscapes that inspired their beautiful words around Grasmere and Rydal. Walk with Alpacas right here in the village. Just relax with a book on the lake shore. Whatever you’re into, we truly believe there is something for everyone.
Recently we have put together a digital guide to help guests plan their stay. The guide is available free of charge to everyone who books. Included is a local area guide packed full of useful information including a restaurant guide with web links to check out menu info and contact details so you can book a table in advance.
